{"id":1075,"date":"2010-03-19T08:49:30","date_gmt":"2010-03-19T15:49:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/?p=1075"},"modified":"2025-11-04T11:14:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T18:14:13","slug":"how-to-create-a-villain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/?p=1075","title":{"rendered":"How to create a villain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>I met a unique man a bit ago.\u00a0 What I saw into his personality and soul and what I speculated about his childhood and past made me realize his background would make the perfect back story for a villain in a story. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>His torso was covered in small moles.\u00a0 Front, back, everywhere.\u00a0 You couldn&#8217;t see them as he was also very <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">hairy<\/span> hirsute but you could feel them.\u00a0 In one sense&#8230; I can now describe very well touching an alien species based on reptiles.\u00a0 Which is perfect for the multi-dimensional series and the dinosaurs world.\u00a0 (Thank you, Fate!)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>I imagined he&#8217;d had these all his life and without the adult body hair to conceal them must have taken a lot of emotional self-esteem\u00a0 shredding because of them.\u00a0 It explained the odd mix I&#8217;d <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">read <\/span>felt from him&#8230; a mix of hardened anger and wounded child.\u00a0 And it explained the oddness I&#8217;d picked up in his voice.\u00a0 As if he&#8217;d had a speech impediment and had overcome it.\u00a0 It was so subtle I almost missed it but it didn&#8217;t sound like an accent, even a second generation one.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>So I imagined what his childhood may have been like and could easily see a dark and terrible road.\u00a0 Perfect for the motivations behind a villain.\u00a0 Of course, this man couldn&#8217;t have had it too bad as he turned out to be a fine individual&#8230; although he is a Republican, so&#8230;<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Again.. thank you Fate.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t know where I&#8217;ll use this villain because the bad guy in the Slut Series is the close-minded heads-of-state family members of the hero.\u00a0 And the\u00a0 multi-dimensional world series has the sexual sadists as the villain.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hmmm&#8230; maybe this is the good guy who betrays our hero to the real villain.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Oooh, I like that.\u00a0 Plotting is so much fun!<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I met a unique man a bit ago.\u00a0 What I saw into his personality and soul and what I speculated about his childhood and past made me realize his background would make the perfect back story for a villain in &hellip; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/?p=1075\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1075","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-writing"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1075","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=1075"}],"version-history":[{"count":6,"href":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1075\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":5151,"href":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1075\/revisions\/5151"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=1075"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=1075"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=1075"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
