June is here.\u00a0 And I realized that meant several things.\u00a0 The kids were almost out of school and I hadn’t decided on whether to send the almost 13 year old back to public school.\u00a0 Shit!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I realized also, that I needed to go into summer school mode.\u00a0 Summer is where I’ve got the kids every day at work.\u00a0 Summer is where I employ my friend, my employed- by- a- school- district- so- out- of- work- in- the- summer, friend.\u00a0\u00a0 So I have to organize work for her, school practice for the kids and some activity so they don’t sit in front of the t.v. all day.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

And I realized my New Years Goals have not been achieved and the year is half over.\u00a0 Granted, many of those goals and possibilities have changed just a bit, but the primary ones haven’t.\u00a0 I need to take my writing career to the next level.\u00a0 And I need to double my salary.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

So recently I’ve been taking baby steps toward my goals.\u00a0 Online dating had taken much of my time early in the year and the fun of it all had consumed most of my drive.\u00a0 June reminded me that there is more to my goals than just wonderful sex.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I turned back to my unpublished book and started the last edit.\u00a0 It took me three tries before the muse settled firmly on my shoulders and I worked my way through it.\u00a0 When its done I’m going to shop it around to agents and if no one bites, I’ll self publish.\u00a0 Maybe its the compulsive completer in me, but I just have to know if its any good.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

And I’ve convinced the boss to spend the money to redesign the website professionally.\u00a0 Her webmaster had been using templates.\u00a0 Perfectly fine for our level.\u00a0 Not perfectly fine to offer our dvds for instant streaming download, though.\u00a0 Time to go big time. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Now I gotta implement it. \u00a0 Designing it is the biggest hassle for me.\u00a0 The rest is checking it and payment.\u00a0 But I’m not the most creative when it comes to design.\u00a0 I’m better with words.\u00a0 I can tell you what I like or don’t like but I’m not that good with turning a blank page into a design. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Sigh.\u00a0 Aaaand now I have to design a business card for “professional” author, Heather Barton.\u00a0 Forced creativity.. wheee.
