{"id":1617,"date":"2010-09-20T11:08:55","date_gmt":"2010-09-20T18:08:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/?p=1617"},"modified":"2025-11-02T21:49:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T04:49:10","slug":"conversations-with-grandma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/?p=1617","title":{"rendered":"Conversations with Grandma"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>I don&#8217;t know if its just kids, my kids or my sense of humor, but the conversations people have with my kids are sometimes just too, too funny!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (13 yrs old) \u00a0\u00a0 <em>Grandma, why is there a sponge in your microwave?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Grandma: (67 yrs old) \u00a0 <em>Well, it kills the bacteria.\u00a0 See when you use a sponge it picks up germs and bacteria and because the sponge is wet the bacteria grows and grows.\u00a0 Zapping it in the microwave kills all the germs and bacteria. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke:\u00a0\u00a0 <em>Why don&#8217;t you just use disinfectant?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Grandma:\u00a0 <em>Well, that would also work.\u00a0 But if there isn&#8217;t a need, why should we use harsh environmental chemicals?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ME:\u00a0\u00a0 <em>Yeah, when we can use ELECTRICITY!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(for those of you who may not realize it..
