{"id":2114,"date":"2011-06-15T11:27:09","date_gmt":"2011-06-15T18:27:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/?p=2114"},"modified":"2025-11-02T20:29:01","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T03:29:01","slug":"fluidity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/?p=2114","title":{"rendered":"Fluidity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Life is fluid.\u00a0 Nothing stays the same.\u00a0 Air moves, water obviously moves, even earth moves.\u00a0 Things that seem solid, when you get down to their molecules, seem much less so.\u00a0 So why are so obsessed with the stationary?\u00a0 The permanent?\u00a0 Is our need for stability rooted in our childhood?\u00a0 People always say children need stability.\u00a0 (Although I always felt the little Minions of Chaos were the antithesis of routine!)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>My point being that so many people strive for sameness in a world that seems to embrace the concept of fluid.\u00a0 Its almost like we&#8217;re aliens trying to impose a bit of our home cuz we&#8217;re on another planet.\u00a0\u00a0 Forcing or expecting stability in an ever changing world. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>When I was a child, I was taught we came from Heaven &amp; return there when we die.\u00a0 I remember thinking Heaven sounded pretty dull.\u00a0\u00a0 Perhaps our souls come to Earth to experience something a little different.\u00a0 You know, take a walk on the wild side for a change of pace.\u00a0 When I was soul searching religion &amp; God in my 20&#8217;s I liked the concept of Reincarnation primarily due to <em>MY<\/em> logic that if a soul&#8217;s journey was to learn about being human it would take more than one lifetime to do that.\u00a0\u00a0 We are just too complex.\u00a0 Not only is there the experience of life as male and then female, there is the experience of being good and evil, whole and damaged, a charmed life and one that never got the breaks.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>This belief REALLY took the pressure off me.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t have to be PERFECT in this life, because really, who is and who can be?!\u00a0\u00a0 See my Christian upbringing left in me the feeling I had to be SUPER Good and change\u00a0 or I&#8217;d end up in Hell.\u00a0 And, of course, their definition of &#8220;Super Good&#8221; was something that clashed with my own definition of who I was and wanted to be. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>But the beauty of ideas is they are also fluid.\u00a0 I think we forget that.\u00a0 We are so hardwired into the concrete of science and laws (and Science Laws lol) that we forget we, as grown ups, are just bigger versions of children.\u00a0 i.e. WE are also Minions of Chaos.\u00a0 Each of us an individual with our own unique set of beliefs, desires, drive, woes and pleasures. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>My highest goal is to be as non-judgmental as possible.\u00a0 My strongest challenge is to be as accepting of those who do not accept ME for me, and therefore judge me, as much as I possibly can.\u00a0 It&#8217;s truly difficult.\u00a0 Especially when you just want to scream at them.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>&#8220;Hey!\u00a0 Who made YOU King\/Queen of the Road\/Store\/World!&#8221;
