{"id":2341,"date":"2011-07-15T07:20:28","date_gmt":"2011-07-15T14:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/?p=2341"},"modified":"2025-11-02T20:25:02","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T03:25:02","slug":"kid-vs-adult","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/?p=2341","title":{"rendered":"Kid vs Adult"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">So I&#8217;m explaining to the kids (on a drive&#8230; all my teaching moments seem to be in the car!)\u00a0 how medication has to get past the digestive system if its going to be taken in pill form. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> (<em>this came from me wishing out load that there was a cream called <\/em>&#8220;Fat Be Gone&#8221; <em>that I could just rub on my tummy.\u00a0\u00a0 Little smart asses suggest a pill form would be better since it&#8217;s for the &#8216;tummy&#8217;.<\/em>)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And I was telling them that if medication cannot get past the digestive tract with active ingredients it has to go directly into the body through a shot.\u00a0 Which generated an entire discussion on how horrible vs not so bad shots were.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">My oldest saying shots aren&#8217;t so bad because the pain only lasts a short time.\u00a0 The other two saying ALL pain is bad and to be avoided at all costs.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ME:\u00a0 Now, now, what\u00a0 you just have to tell your body is, &#8220;Its okay, its okay, it&#8217;ll be over soon.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">EVAN:\u00a0 Yeah.. but that quickly turns into &#8220;Run away, run away and it&#8217;ll be over NOW!&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">:))<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So I&#8217;m explaining to the kids (on a drive&#8230; all my teaching moments seem to be in the car!)\u00a0 how medication has to get past the digestive system if its going to be taken in pill form.
