the Little Things"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">You always hear about \u201chow it\u2019s the little things\u201d in life that makes it worth living.\u00a0 I like to think it\u2019s the little things that can make life worth remembering.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Like the first time I was kissed in a way that made my brain just shut down.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t overly romantic&#8230;I was in a plain robe in my small apartment kitchen cooking pancakes for Mr. New Guy.\u00a0 It also wasn\u2019t a seduction\u2026it was the morning after all that fun.\u00a0 But it was spontaneous\u2026i.e. no warning.\u00a0 And it was perfectly executed\u2026i.e. I asked him if he wanted pancakes and he wrapped an arm around my waist and frenched me.\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019ll never know if that was the moment or him, but the\u00a0memory of that kiss will remain with me forever.\u00a0 His spontaneous deep kiss went straight to my brain just shutting off all thought\u00a0and instantly switched my body on.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Like I said\u2026the little things.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The time, months ago, that I was driving to work and noticed what looked like a cover model from a romance novel walking down the street.\u00a0 Was he gorgeous?\u00a0 Couldn\u2019t tell you, I barely saw his face.\u00a0 He was walking toward me on the opposite side of the street and what registered was, nice bod and wow\u2026look at that hair.\u00a0 I\u2019ve never seen hair that long and that glorious on a man.\u00a0 It must have gone half way down his back.\u00a0 It looked thick and straight, combed and the prettiest natural blond color.\u00a0 I\u2019ve never been into long hair on a guy because they barely maintain it and its often accompanied by\u00a0beer bellies and beards.\u00a0 But this one, oooooo,\u00a0I wanted to pull over and run my hands through it.\u00a0 If I hadn\u2019t been driving I would have at least stopped and stared.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Little things\u2026I can\u2019t drive down that street without hoping I\u2019d see that guy again.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The other day, on a walk, I was waiting for a light and saw a guy on a sports motorcycle heading our way.\u00a0 There was no other traffic so I got to stare at the bike with my \u201cI like what I see\u201d smile on my face.\u00a0 And he knows he looks all sexy and mysterious on his bike, who he is\u00a0hidden by his helmet.\u00a0 I see his head turn slightly to scope us out (me and my 66 year old mother) and when he gets abreast of us he gives the engine a little rev as he drives by.\u00a0 A token acknowledgment of admiration and I break into a grin.\u00a0 Is he saying he finds me cute?\u00a0 Is he saying he sees I like guys on bikes?\u00a0 Is he saying he\u2019s got to get to that next intersection before the light turns red?\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t matter\u2026because it\u2019s a little thing and I get to make of it anything I want.\u00a0 To me he was flexing his testosterone and I took it and bathed it all over my ego.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Did I date the mind-numbing kisser?\u00a0 Yes, but we broke if off due to the hardships of the travel time and his kisses after that one never shut down my awareness of everything, although he was quite passionate.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Will I ever see the gorgeous model guy?\u00a0 Probably not\u2026but boy will he get put in a novel some day.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">I\u2019ll take these little things to make my life interesting\u2026to make the memories I carry into wonders I collect and bring out occasionally to look at, fondle and treasure.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">It\u2019s all in your perception.\u00a0 Go find your little things.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><strong><span
