I have embarked on my new career with complete enthusiasm.\u00a0 Yet my life still goes on, so I must do what I can to squeeze my new\u00a0 hobby<\/span>\u00a0 joy\u00a0into what time I can.\u00a0\u00a0 And with what I write, erotic romance, this is very challenging!<\/span><\/p>\n

First, it’s\u00a0impossible to try and write in the living room with the kids watching t.v. or playing video games.\u00a0\u00a0 Fine…there are plenty of rooms in the house.\u00a0\u00a0 Kitchen table…not so comfortable for hours of writing.\u00a0 Bedroom occupied.\u00a0\u00a0 So my wonderful mother bought some very comfortable lawn furniture for me but weather impacts whether or not I use it.\u00a0 And I found I cannot use it for the ‘read aloud’ stage of my writing.\u00a0 The neighbors!\u00a0 Remember this is erotica!<\/span><\/p>\n

So ultimately I bounce around in where I write.\u00a0 And sometime I’m also using this space and time to do a little work or blog.\u00a0 But when I’m home, EVERYONE assumes I’m in charge.\u00a0 My fault really…I’ve trained them that way.\u00a0 (Yes, I’m working on correcting that but it takes time.)\u00a0 And sometimes I get interrupted…usually by the kids.\u00a0 It goes like this.<\/span><\/p>\n

….She had a moments warning from his eyes before his lips came crushing down on hers.\u00a0 Strong arms enveloped her but it wasn’t enough.\u00a0 She had to be closer to him, feel him along every part of her body.\u00a0 He deepened his kiss when she wrapped her arms around his neck with a whimper of need.\u00a0 His lips left hers to trail along her neck.\u00a0 When he reached her ear he whispered,\u00a0 “Mom, I’m hungry”<\/span><\/p>\n

uuuurrrrkkk…..squeel the tires of the muse to a stop.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have to control the urge to choke the shit out of offending child<\/span>\u00a0 be overly permissive when the muse is really in control.\u00a0\u00a0 It’s far too easy to just park them in front of an electronic and shower them with snacks to keep them out of my hair!\u00a0 Although I admt, I’ve done it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now that I’ve been trying to do this and juggle everythng for almost a year I’ve managed to find a balance.\u00a0 I channel June Cleaver of Jane Jetson when interrupted, plastering a smile and taking several breaths before dealing with the demands of the family.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
