{"id":603,"date":"2009-09-11T20:27:56","date_gmt":"2009-09-12T03:27:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/?p=603"},"modified":"2025-11-07T10:28:04","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T17:28:04","slug":"sometimes-shit-just-happens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/?p=603","title":{"rendered":"Sometimes shit just happens-UPDATED"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sad but true, sometimes shit just happens.\u00a0 I try not to take it personally (and fail most of the time) \u00a0but lately when shit happens I feel as if fate is trying to tell me something.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Right now it seems to be telling me to have less contact with everyone or have less someones.\u00a0\u00a0 Because,\u00a0EO, I lost the address to contact you.\u00a0\u00a0 And the wonderfully fun women I met in Orlando&#8230;?&#8230;\u00a0 they must be super busy because they don&#8217;t email back or indicate they&#8217;re reading the blog by commenting.<\/p>\n<p>One thing about me&#8230; I know deep inside I&#8217;m a rather needy person.\u00a0 I always have been.\u00a0 So early on I learned NOT to force myself on another person just because I wanted their human contact.\u00a0 Not everyone finds me as fascinating as I find me.\u00a0 (Oh, stop laughing.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re reading the blog, then you find me interesting and so the previous sentence obviously doesn&#8217;t apply to YOU.\u00a0 Those who don&#8217;t find me interesting\u00a0aren&#8217;t reading the blog so I can&#8217;t really hurt their feelings, now can I?)<\/p>\n<p>Anyway&#8230; back to <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">whining<\/span> the point.\u00a0 Because of my habit\u00a0NOT to Over-Inflict myself on others I don&#8217;t usually initiate contact more than twice in\u00a0a row with no response.\u00a0 I find that no matter how much they enjoy your company in any event, day or evening&#8230; it&#8217;s not always enough to keep them wanting to continue in your company enough to make the effort.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>People are busy.\u00a0 Everyone has their own lives.\u00a0 I understand that.\u00a0 But I&#8217;ve got my insecurities telling me I&#8217;m nagging a stranger or new friend to be my friend and my pride telling me to stop begging other&#8217;s when its obvious they don&#8217;t want the contact.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Same thing happens with my writing and the blog.\u00a0 Many people asked to read Cat.\u00a0 So I emailed her off to them.\u00a0\u00a0Over 10 people got her and only 4 people ever said anything to me about whether they like it or not.\u00a0 Only 3 have ever finished her.\u00a0 Again, I know people are busy but frankly don&#8217;t ask for my book and then not read it.<\/p>\n<p>So\u00a0with summer gone we all gather less.\u00a0 We buckle down into our lives and contact when we can.\u00a0 And I&#8217;m down a friend unless I can miraculously find that contact address.\u00a0 As if it wasn&#8217;t bad enough I no longer get to see Gina once a week, or Eithne every day.<\/p>\n<p>Like I said,\u00a0sometimes&#8230;
