My oldest, Luke, has been nagging me to see the G.I. Joe movie since it came out.\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve said no because I didn\u2019t think he was old enough for such an action flick on the big screen.\u00a0 <\/span>He pacified himself by buying, with his own money, the G.I. Joe DS game and then when he\u2019d completed it he bought the Wii version.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

On the day he turned twelve he asked if he was NOW old enough to see the movie.\u00a0 <\/span>I thought about it a minute, then agreed.\u00a0 <\/span>If going to see a movie works for a birthday present, fine with me.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, I was the one who took him because the movie looked right up my alley.\u00a0 <\/span>Maybe its just me, but action movies are chick flicks for forty-year olds.\u00a0 <\/span>ALL the men are built and most are fine and half the time they have their shirts off.\u00a0 <\/span>There\u2019s lots of action and testosterone, so much so I just want to roll around in them it like a puppy.\u00a0 <\/span>And I was NOT disappointed.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The action in G.I. Joe was just a little bit chaotic but the effects are wonderful.\u00a0 <\/span>I can\u2019t wait to own it on DVD just to see it on an easier to watch screen.\u00a0 <\/span>Maybe it was the fact we were in the second row in a dinky theatre but it was a little hard on the eyes and ears.\u00a0 <\/span>There were several guffaw moments and many, many\u2026 oh so many\u2026 moments I really wanted to pause or rewind just to see that body\u00a0 <\/span>again.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

And the girls were kick ass too without losing a stitch of their own sexuality.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>If there were plot problems I barely noticed which tells you a lot about what I was noticing!\u00a0 <\/span>The fun part was realizing that the actor playing that bit character was, could it be\u2026 Brendan Frazier?\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Oooo, I\u2019m hoping for a sequel where he\u2019s in it more!\u00a0 <\/span>Yummy.\u00a0 <\/span>And I really wanted to rip the mask off of Snake Eyes (the masked good guy) because the scenes where he\u2019s a kid tells you there\u2019s a hunk underneath.\u00a0 <\/span>And they ended the whole movie with the song Boom, Boom, Boom by the Black Eyed Peas.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It was perfect.\u00a0 <\/span>I found myself looking forward to bonding with my boys in this new age they and I are in.\u00a0 <\/span>Luke and I loved the film.\u00a0 <\/span>We did take Evan who found it boring\u2026 what can I say, he likes the comedies better.\u00a0 <\/span>But Evan and I bond over building and sorting his Legos so I don\u2019t mind making the action flick a Luke and Mommy thing.\u00a0 <\/span>And for the first time in a long time I felt rediscovering this part of me, this woman who loves living life to its fullest, \u00a0was right.\u00a0 More than that… it would be alright.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
