My mother always told me to take a fork to the potatoes before I bake them.\u00a0 And I always did.\u00a0 It never seemed to make them cook any faster so for many years I thought she was slightly off with this advice.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Never the less, I still did it, every time. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

But recently I’ve been in a rush and just threw the potatoes in with the meatloaf.\u00a0 Hell, I didn’t even wash them!\u00a0\u00a0 They were fine and I shrugged off that habit my mother’s advice had become.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Guess who skipped her carb THAT night!<\/p><\/div>\n

Apparently.. the science of the WHY I should do this never stuck as well as the habit.\u00a0 Because I’m sure she told me.\u00a0 Potatoes have lots of water in them and the heat can make a lot of steam, which is an excellent source of, well,\u00a0 propulsion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There had been 5 potatoes.\u00a0 I had just grabbed one on the right when that back one exploded.\u00a0 All Over Me.<\/em> And all over the floor and the walls, and… well, you get the idea.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

So now I gotta rethink ALL her advice!\u00a0 Does this mean I WILL<\/em> go bald if I pluck out the gray hairs in my head?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
