Eithne said to me, “Ugh.. it was Pie Day at school.” <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

She works as a Teachers Aide for special needs kids (in a school district un-named to protect her identity… hee hee).\u00a0 And she’s been complaining over her weight forever.\u00a0 I moan about my intake of Girl Scout Cookie Thin Mints (thank GOD they only come out once a year!) and in response she moaned to me about Pie Day.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I just stared at her imagining people just deciding to bring pies to school.\u00a0 “Why would anyone have a Pie Day?”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“It’s March 14th” she told me.\u00a0 As if that answered it.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Rolling my eyes, I gave her my best, “what the f*&%k” look.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“March 14,” she said with exasperation. “three, fourteen.\u00a0 three point one four… get it?”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

And bam… I so got it.\u00a0 And began to giggle.\u00a0 The numeric Pie…. 3.14 celebrated at school with PIES!\u00a0 Pie Day!

“Bad enough I had to eat it at school,” Eithne whined on, “but my girls just HAD to bring some to their class.\u00a0 I had to BAKE!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

God, I’m glad I have boys!
