campers.<\/p>\nYup…\u00a0 late on blogging..again!\u00a0 So, in a frantic desire to “catch up” before I’m off to Coachella 2018 I’m doing a quick recap of 2017.<\/p>\n
Once we saw the lineup featuring Radiohead we HAD to go and got lucky enough to get our Weekend Two tickets when they went on sale.\u00a0 And this time we decided\u00a0 to try Camping.\u00a0 The whole condo\/hotel thing had become VERY expensive as the venue became more popular.\u00a0\u00a0 I had to work that morning but we managed to set off mid-day Thursday even though this got us there after dark.\u00a0 We were very worried about passing security but breezed through and Sex God set up our HUGE tent, blew up the mattress, rolled out our sleeping bags, set up the canopy and tied & anchored it all to the car!\u00a0 Then we walked around the grounds exploring the special area just for campers.<\/p>\n
Day One we met some of our neighbors, even shared with them a few songs from Nothing But Thieves, our favorite band.\u00a0\u00a0 We snacked on the junk food Sex God brought, powered down some alcohol & hydreated before heading into the venue.\u00a0 As old hands, once in,\u00a0 we did a full walkabout tour in between seeing Joseph, Tennis, King Gizzard, & Broods.\u00a0 Then we popped back to the campsite to eat dinner, get as drunk on our FREE alcohol as possible, hydrate more, and change!\u00a0 I just fell in love with this camping routine!\u00a0 I could get into comfy jeans & sneakers & outa the tank, shorts & sandals.\u00a0 I could switch out my sunglasses for my regular glasses.\u00a0 I could eat and drink free food we brought and get “relaxed” before going back into the venue.\u00a0 Prior years we had to make sure we brought everything we might need straight into the venue…this way, leave at the campsite! \u00a0 So, feeling wonderfully happy we went back into the venue and saw Phantogram, The XX and Radiohead.\u00a0\u00a0 The XX was incredible!\u00a0 Their music is truly best appreciated live, I don’t know, it’s something about the way they sing it that just heightened everything.\u00a0 And of course, we adore Radiohead.\u00a0 As soon as their first song hits I got sexually charged and realized, “Oh crap…this is our sex music!”\u00a0 lol\u00a0 We kissed and laughed and I was so loving it…I dancing like I w![\"may](\"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/may-hip-3183.jpg\")
as suddenly Hawaiian!<\/p>\n
On day two we had the routine down!\u00a0 We hung with the neighbors in the AM (although the ones on our other side disappeared!), then hit the venue to relax in the sun while seeing Blossoms, Arkells, Banks & Steelz, The Head and the Heart before heading back to the campsite for “dinner”, drinks & “relaxation”.\u00a0\u00a0 Once back in we saw Bastille (so good), Two Door Cinema Club, and Dreamcar (which was a really fun, very gay band!).\u00a0 We popped into a few other places before heading to see Lady Gaga, and boy she didn’t disappoint!<\/p>\n
By day three Sex God was very hungover.\u00a0 That morning I decided I wanted a massage so sat in the line.\u00a0 Sex God wandered in only to crash straight asleep. lol\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 After that we scampered into the venue to see Grace Mitchell, Anna Lunoe, Show Me The Body & Grouplove.\u00a0 Back for dinner, etc. an![\"may](\"http:\/\/www.heatherbarton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/may-hip-111.jpg\")
d then into the venue to see Kilara, Bishop Briggs (who is FUCKING AMAZING!), Kehlani and topped off the night with New Order.<\/p>\n
It was THE most enjoyable vacation that Sex God and I have had in a very, very long time.\u00a0 The camping made the entire “going to Coachella” easier because I DIDN’T need to bring everything I might need for the event with me.\u00a0 It was so freeing!\u00a0 Plus Sex God kind of took care of me for the whole weekend.\u00a0 And for someone who tends to ALWAYS take care of everyone else, this was wonderful.<\/p>\n
We left late Monday morning and I cannot wait to repeat this vacation this year!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
