Basketball!!!

I was not as good a fan of basketball as I would like this year.  Time wise I just couldn’t spend an evening at a sports bar enjoying the game.  And I haven’t met an fwb, yet, who wants to enjoy the sport with me.  But there is always next year!

Because the Lakers won last night’s championship game!  THAT I wasn’t going to miss, even though I couldn’t go to a sports bar to enjoy it with lots of fans.  I hustled dinner early and was comfortably parked with my laptop by game time.

Why my laptop?  Well, to be on Yahoo Messenger in case anyone wanted to chat.  Hell, if you haven’t figured out by now that I’m a compulsive multi-tasker then you haven’t been reading!  And I wasn’t disappointed.  Jimmy got online and we chatted throughout the game.  It was ALMOST as much fun as watching it with him would be.

And why is it fun to share this kind of experience with someone?  Just like with concerts and movies, its a social feeling to bounce your opinions off another person.  ’cause the beginning of that game was something I’d not seen before (remember I’m a newbie to enjoying basketball!!)  The first quarter was almost ghetto rough and I was amazed at that at this level of professionalism.  And the Lakers seem to be playing like shit!

When Jimmy got online to chat with me it was wonderful because I had someone I could say type “Arrghh!” to and get reassurance that its not just ME noticing that they are missing A LOT of shots!  And I had someone I could enjoy that last quarter with as the Lakers seemed to push hard to win.  By then my sons had been lured into the only room with television still on and they watched the game with me.  But I could tell they were only vaguely interested!

I did manage to find something to multi-task while I watched.  I sorted Legos.  My middle son has millions and the unique pieces he needs to complete a set seem to be impossible to find.  So I sorted all the special black pieces out from the regular black pieces.  Because I could do that with my fingers and barely need to look away from the television!  Brilliant!

Of course, during the course of the chatting, Jimmy and I had to discuss our favorite Laker.  His was Ron Artest and I had to agree that he was one of my favorites also.  He’s like the “heart” of pure basketball…  he plays the game without excessive strategy or ego or points, he’s just playing the game.  Caveat.. “in my opinion”!  lol.

But my real favorite, and if you know me and know the team, is soooo obvious.  My real favorite is Sasha Vujacic (which I’m assuming is pronounced Vu-ja-sic).  And I can’t help but nickname him Sash Juicy!  As a Cougar, he is an incredibly delicious looking cub.  But maybe its the hair, or maybe its that unshaven look which I adore sooo much on a man.  Because he’s not as sexy clean shaved, dressed up with  his hair slicked back.  Or maybe its those arms and imagining how strong those hands would  have to be to play professional B-Ball…  drool!

You be the judge… isn’t HE enough of a reason to watch the Lakers?!

Well, he is FOR ME!!

Sasha Juicy… yummy, yummy!

Of course, he’s like a foot and a half taller than me!  Then again.. I like a man on his knees…
