I swear… kids are entertainment. I’m having a quietly lazier morning as I don’t work on Wednesday (its my day to run errands and such) and the kids go into school an hour later so they are watching kids programs and I’m on the Evilnet.
Their show references The Three Musketeers and my oldest says to his two brothers, “Hey… do you think we’re like the Three Musketeers?”
I think of the many versions of The Three Musketeers and my preference for the lusty one… who I think was Porthos… but I almost spew my coffee when I hear my middle one say.
“If we were the Three Musketeers, I think I’d be Goofy.”
Goofy! That’s with a capital G, so it’s the Disney character not the adjective and I realize their only exposure of The Three Musketeers was the crazy Disney movie on it with Mickey, Goofy and Donald Duck.
I will have to remedy that in a few years and wonder which adult version I’ll have them watch. Then I look back and wonder if there was a kid version of The Three Musketeers that I grew up on? Any sort of Scooby Do or Gilligan’s Island version? Nope… no one can warp a classic better than Disney!
Unless its Veggie Tales.
