So I joined the gym and lost my 20 lbs and I look almostlike I did before kids… except for my middle. Yet everyone says sit-ups and crunches are NOT the way to fix my middle. Jimmy the trainer says working the ab muscles will only make them bigger, not slimmer. Core muscles are the key… so sayeth all.
And the weak part of my core are my back muscles. So I changed my workout adding a lot of upper body machines and doing them 3 days a week and legs the other 2 days a week. And every day I do some sort of ab workout on a mat. I work machines that have me pulling and pushing weight at different angles… all trying to build my back and shoulder muscles.
Yet, something occurred to me today. I hold my stress in my upper shoulders. Sometimes so much stress, it creeps up my neck and gives me a migraine headache.
Is it wise to make stronger a muscle that tightens up when I get stressed? Maybe I’ll have to look into massage therapy.
Ooooo a masseuse!
